Niamh Brierley is a filmmaker and photographer, born and raised in North Wales and currently based in Leeds, United Kingdom.
After studying at The University of Leeds, she has gained hands-on experience as a director, camera operator and recently director of photography for her new short film ‘Sounds Unheard’. With further experience assisting as a camera assistant and clapper.
Furthermore, Niamh has recently finished working as camera assistant on a feature film in Amsterdam which wrapped in the beginning of September.
As a filmmaker, Niamh has a keen interest in cinematography and camera; however, she hopes to explore editing further in future projects. As a photographer, she is primarily drawn to landscape and street photography, where she finds inspiration and can hone her creativity.
Furthermore, having spent her third year of University on exchange in Rotterdam at Erasmus Universiteit (2023/24), Niamh thoroughly enjoyed and thrived within the international setting that the city and the University provided.
She has also gained valuable experience having volunteered at two film festivals in November-December 2024: the Aesthetica Film Festival in York, assisting in the organisation and running of networking events and the Leeds Palestinian Film Festival, working as a photographer and videographer. Furthermore, she just finished assisting as a videographer and photographer for the Cambridge Rivers Of Film Festival.
